BEHIND THE SCENES: Round #3 of On the Lot semi-final round called for a 5-minute short based on the tagline 'finding love.' My family owns two beautiful Shelti dogs that love to chase each other, so we thought it would be a lot of fun to show off their cuteness for the cameras. Working with animals poses unique challenges, much like working with small children. Their most natural performances arise out of spontaneity, so it's often best to let them roam free of restrictions and film them in their own element.
