BEHIND THE SCENES: The interesting thing about this project is that on the surface, it appears to be a story about a volatile relationship. However, the raw footage looks more like one giant blooper reel than a serious story about a serious issue. Adrian and I tried to stay in character, even going so far as to encourage actual verbal abuse towards each other, but that tactic only succeeded in making us laugh hysterically. Though I will say this: the clip of him throwing me down on the kitchen floor really DID hurt and really DID inspire rage. Just one more reason why the editing process is so fascinating; its ability to shape a performance that was never there to begin with!
